Luebke Celebrates a Halladay

Cory Luebke rose to the challenge of facing Roy Halladay, helping the Padres to a 5-1 win over the Phillies. Roy walked four batters in seven innings as he allowed two runs, with Michael Stutes giving up three more in the eighth to put the contest out of reach. Luebke held the Padres to two hits and two walks in eight innings, not allowing a run. Even his 110 pitch count seemed like Halladay efficiency. With the Phillies offense weak, the aces of the staff need to be at their best every game. Roy wasn’t off that much, but Saturday night it was enough to lose the game.

Luebke held the Phillies to 2 Hs & 2 BBs, you meant.

It was a strange game for Halladay with all the consecutive walks but he got out of the jam with only 1 run & a great defensive play from Galvis.

Maybe the Padres will split the series yet. They haven’t won a series yet.
