Duffy Sidelined

The Royals received some bad news to temper the end of the their losing streak:

Royals pitcher Danny Duffy will miss his scheduled start against Minnesota on Friday because of tightness in his left elbow.

The injury isn’t considered serious and the Royals expect Duffy to start next week against Detroit. He’s 1-2 with a 3.63 ERA in three starts.

Not serious? That’s how it starts. The next thing you know, the pitcher is off to see James Andrews. I hope for Duffy’s sake that doesn’t happen. He’s off to a decent start for the Royals, with 20 K in 17 1/3 innings.
