Working 9 to 5

The Diamondbacks defeat the Marlins 9-5 Monday afternoon as Patrick Corbin makes a decent major league debut. He pitched 5 2/3 innings for the win. He was a bit wilder than he showed in the minors, walking three batters, but he also struck out six. Not bad for someone who had not played in AAA.

The Diamondbacks take 3 out of 4 in Miami, and climb to one game over .500.

The ball flew out of the new park in Miami as the teams each hit two home runs. There have been 13 home runs in 11 Marlins home games so far, 21 in 11 road games.

I believe the the commissioner has down baseball a dis-service in many ways, but the steroid situation and his back turning was a lapse of the job description.
