Hunter Pence collects the second hit of the game for the Phillies off Stephen Strasburg, and it’s the first home run off Stephen Strasburg since he injured his elbow in 2010. Philadelphia takes a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth.
Strasburg doubled in the bottom of the third, and he was the worst base runner I’ve ever seen. Slow runners would have had a triple on his hit. He then failed to tag and go to third on a fly ball to the rightfield corner, and failed to score on a two-out single. He should be able to sprint around the bases, since one run can win a game for him.
Update: Chad Tracy hits his first home run of the season in the top fourth, and the Phillies lead 2-1. Tracy joins the “I homered before Albert Pujols” club.
