The Z that Stands for Zero

Carlos Zambrano threw his first shutout since 2009 as the Marlins extended their winning streak to seven games with a 4-0 win over Houston. Carlos worked efficiently, holding Houston to three hits and one walk while striking out nine. Zambrano gave up just 28 hits in 40 innings this season. In his best years, Carlos kept his hits allowed well below his innings pitched. That’s a good sign for the Marlins.

Hanley Ramirez continued to pull out of his slump. With a homer and double Monday night, he now has four doubles and two homers in his last eight games.
