Austin Jackson singled, doubled, homered and drove in three runs as the Tigers took down the Cubs 5-3 Thursday afternoon. He’s six for 22 with two homers and two doubles in five games since his return. The Tigers won four of those. The team is 22-19 when Jackson plays, 8-14 when he doesn’t.

Justin Verlander returned to form today, lasting eight innings with no walks and eight strikeouts. He allowed 12 runs in 18 1/3 innings during his previous three starts.
