For the second night in a row, the Royals win in walk-off fashion. Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Mitch Maier leads off the inning striking out, but reaches first on a wild pitch. Maier would be at second when Jarrod Dyson walks with two out. That brought up pinch hitter Brayan Pena, who hit a line drive down the leftfield line. Norichika Aoki got to the ball quickly, but Maier easily scored from second. Aoki threw to third, and the ball gets thrown to second as Pena went too far around first. Dyson, however, heads home, and scores easily giving the Royals a 4-3 win. As the Royals broadcast described it, the game was more of a run-off win. 🙂
