Walk Off Win Day

Four games so far on Sunday ended with the home team walking off with a win. The Indians and Tigers scored 10 runs in the first nine innings, then combined for eight runs in the tenth as the Tigers won 10-8. Detroit scored five runs with two outs in the inning, capped by a Miguel Cabrera two-run homer. Austin Jackson and Omar Infante did a great job of getting on base, both going 4 for 6 in the game.

The Phillies score one in the eighth and one in the ninth to tie and win the game, beating the Diamondbacks 5-4. The Phillies did it one base at a time as walks, singles, errors and wild pitches over the two innings finally set up Ryan Howard‘s RBI single in the ninth.

The Royals came back from a 5-2 deficit, then blew a 6-5 lead as they took Texas into extra innings. After a Billy Butler walk, pinch-runner Eric Hosmer scored on consecutive errors to give the Royals the win.

The Cubs and the Dodgers played a back and forth game, Chicago tying the game at six in the top of the ninth, but Matt Kemp walked with one out in the bottom of the ninth, and consecutive singles by Andre Ethier and Hanley Ramirez brought Matt around to score. Kemp reached base three times and score three runs.
