The Search

The Soxaholix is not down with the way the Red Sox search for a manager.

This is the same “process” that led to Bobby Fucking Valentine?

I’m not really tingling with confidence ovah heah.

I find it interesting that the Red Sox don’t know who they like. It was pretty clear that Cleveland wanted Terry Francona, and while the Astros interviewed a number of candidates, it didn’t take them long to settle on Bo Porter. While I don’t think the process the Red Sox use is wrong, I could see where it might turn off candidates.

Of course, Valentine’s hiring might have ignored all that Ben Cherrington learned in his interview process, since the edict to hire Bobby appears to have come from above.

Why this process didn’t start before the end of the season is beyond most Red Sox fans. It was clear that Valentine wasn’t coming back for 2013, they should have fired him a month before the season was over, given Bogar some on the job training, and started the notification process and getting permission to interview other candidates.

I could complain that they just should have kept Tito, but we’re way past that time now… Nothing this organization does makes any logical sense anymore.
