After Adam Wainwright pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first, Tim Lincecum gives up a single and a walk to start the bottom of the first. Matt Holliday is up with men on first and second as the Cardinals try to take an early lead on the Giants.

Update: Holliday hits a hard grounder up the middle for a single, driving in the first run of the game. The Cardinals are getting on base again, and they have men on 1st and 3rd with none out and a 1-0 lead.

Update: Angel Pagan tracks down a fading, sinking, line drive in centerfield. The Giants get the first out, but the runs scores on the sacrifice fly and the Cardinals lead 2-0.

Update: With two out, David Freese pulls a single to put men on first and second. He’s hitting .333 in the series so far.

Update: Daniel Descalso strikes out to end the inning, but the Cardinals do some damage. Four of their seven batter reach, none with an extra base hit. The Cardinals keep putting men on base, and eventually, they come around to score.
