I like it when a big star who’s a sureshot for the Hall of Fame announces their retirement before the season. It’s like what Chipper did. People know ahead of time that if they want to see the guy play, they gotz to do it now. Of course, some guys don’t get the chance to make that choice, but it’s great when a player can & does.
