Baseball Jesus host No Losses, the Corbin Project in Washington this afternoon. Patrick Corbin makes his fifth attempt at going 10-0. He pitched well in his last four games, three of those high-quality starts. Strasburg is on a streak of seven straight starts in which he allowed one earned run or less, although he did not go deep in all those games. In the last five of those, he allowed just one run period.
Toronto starts an important stretch as they open a four-game series with the Red Sox, followed by a four-game series with the Tigers. This gives Toronto a chance to gain in the division, and show they can hang with two of the best teams in the American League. Chien-Ming Wang starts the run against Jon Lester. The worm killer is back to success with a low K rate, just 10 in 20 2/3 innings. Sixty-four percent of the balls in play against him went as grounders, helping him pitch much better than his FIP. Lester owns a 2.86 ERA at home. Jon shows better control and allows a lower home run rate at Fenway, the latter something you would not expect from a left-hander.
Enjoy!
