Carl Crawford is back but now Matt Kemp is hurt:
After swinging and missing at a pitch during his second-inning plate appearance, Kemp grimaced, dropped his bat, and immediately reached for his left shoulder.
He finished the at-bat, and the inning, but was then replaced by Carl Crawford.
Kemp was examined by Dr. Ken Akizuki of the Giants, and after consultation with Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the Dodgers’ team physician, the outfielder was diagnosed with an “irritated A-C joint.”
I saw the swing, and it wasn’t pretty. He let go of the bat with one hand, and the other arm brought the follow through around too much. I suspect the Dodgers wondered how they would keep Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier, and Carl Crawford busy, but with the constant injuries it hasn’t been a problem.
