The 2012 season ended with the following players atop the NL leader board in RBI:
Batter | Runs Batted In |
Chase Headley | 115 |
Ryan Braun | 112 |
Alfonso Soriano | 108 |
Aramis Ramirez | 105 |
Hunter Pence | 104 |
Buster Posey | 103 |
Matt Holliday | 102 |
Adam LaRoche | 100 |
Jay Bruce | 99 |
Carlos Beltran | 97 |
Here’s what the leader board looks like today:
Batter | Runs Batted In |
Paul Goldschmidt | 71 |
Allen Craig | 68 |
Brandon Phillips | 63 |
Carlos Gonzalez | 62 |
Domonic Brown | 60 |
Jay Bruce | 56 |
Pedro Alvarez | 56 |
Freddie Freeman | 56 |
Adrian Gonzalez | 53 |
Michael Cuddyer | 52 |
Jay Bruce is the only person in common in the top ten. I don’t think the new list is that much younger than the previous one, but it’s certainly less veteran. Paul Goldschmidt, Freddie Freeman, Allen Craig, Domonic Brown, and Pedro Alvarez are players hitting their peak. It’s nice to see new sluggers emerging.
