Chipper Jones will not watch games umpired by Angel Hernandez, and he wants you to stop as well:
Our only recourse, as fans, is to turn the station whenever he, or his crew, are on the field. When viewer numbers go down, MLB will notice.

I think it’s a great idea. Hernandez is working the Braves series this weekend. If you hurt the broadcasters, who have a great deal of power with MLB, it might just work. Remember, Angel was the umpire who did not overturn a home run call on review when everyone and his mother could see the call was incorrect.
Hat tip, BBTF.
If nobody watches we wont have any witnesses when he blows a call. I suppose we can just watch the replay on MLB.TV or DVR. I cant imagine fans giving up a game of “their” team though.
IIRCC Angles used to be teamed with Joe West, before they broke them up. He is another one who should be boycotted (preferably fired), along with all those umps who think a ball 6 inches off the outside of the plate to LHB’ers is a strike.
He’s only one of many umpires who are incompetent.
I’m glad Jones spoke up. I hope he gets on some other ones too. I’m sick to death of all of the missed calls, wrong calls, and flat out calls that don’t follow baseball rules.
What’s the point of changing channels? Unless you are a Nielsen viewer, nobody will know.
Andrew » I’m pretty sure digital set top boxes track your viewing. There are more sources than Nielsen these days.
