I’m watching the Padres and Nationals instead of the All-Star show, but the broadcast announced that Bryce is a starting outfielder for the National League in the mid-summer classic as he came to the plate. The Nats were trailing 4-3, with runners at 1st and 2nd, but they moved up on a wild pitch. Harper then hit a fly ball to left that scored Denard Span, his third RBI of the day. The fans in the stadium don’t know about his status yet, but he is the youngest NL player voted to start the game, I believe.
The game is tied at four with a man on second and two out for Ryan Zimmerman.
Update: Zimmerman drives in the go-ahead run with a broken-bat single, but gets thrown out at second. The Nats take a 5-4 lead to the eighth.
