Randy Arozarena finds himself at the opposite end of the country from Tampa Bay and the Mariners acquire the outfielder from the Rays:

The Seattle Mariners, starving for offense and in desperate need of a spark, have acquired All-Star outfielder Randy Arozarena from the Tampa Bay Rays, the teams announced Thursday night.

Two lower-level minor leaguers, outfielder Aidan Smith and right-hander Brody Hopkins, will go to the Rays in the trade, as will a player to be named later.

Overall Arozarena is in a down year, but picked things up over the last month or so. Injuries to two Mariners stars necessitated an early trade deal.

The two prospect going to the Rays look pretty good so far. Smith is just 19 years old and is hitting .284/.402/.470 at A ball. Hopkins is a high K, low home run pitcher, but he does need to find his control. He is 22, so would likely be the first person from this trade to the majors.
